The Guilt.
A powerful short film.
A debut of David Victori.
A real Spain film which is full of passion.
The winner of Your Film Festival.
The Guilt.
Mea maxima culpa.
The film tells us about a man who wanted to avenge his murdered girlfriend. Good methods are used to show the fear, madness and pain.
Everything is important - especially the stairs. They are the personification of helplessness and guilt, the mind of the main hero, his trap. The film is dark, so you are always waiting what is going to be - you can't see anything near the heros. Hard lighting is using to show the mystery plus we see natural lighting to make us feel that the story is real. The night scene is very good and is full of warm light to show us the good side but with a bit of fear.
The child, I suppose, is himself, his soul. This is the reason why... Well, don't want to spoil the watching.
Just watch it.

Observing a screenshort
Today I'll observe a picture from the very famous film Dirty Harry. Unfortunately, I haven't seen it yet, so my guesses will be only mine and can be wrong. Anyway, I'll start.
The only two things I'm sure in are that this is Clint Eastwood outside. But! Also there are:
- only hero of C.E. so he is the main figure, because he is foreground, and you have not to know him to understand this. He is moving somewhere, where is something important, maybe to kill or assess the place, because he is looked very serious and intent. His face and hair are clean, this signifies that he is living near this place and was at home on that day, but it can be not true, because films like this one like to show there main heros like without any spots (except of western films).
- the main hero is alone, but he is not sad, he is serious, so he is always or often working alone, he is independent.
- a weapon. I'm not good at guns and weapons, but this one has got a suppressor or it is a revolver - presume I see a cylinder. Suppose this is a revolver, because it's more powerful, better for that time and western film directors often shoot how the main hero revolves the cylinder.
- cloths are clean except of a little spot on his trousers. - It's 60-70s, because of the cars and the cloths of the man.
- It's not a good place, because we can see a turned over car on the left.
- USA, a city, but not the centre, because there are only 2 people on the background, a few cars and a turned over car.
- On the background there are houses and a big old house (a bank or something serious) on the right.
- it's a realistic film because of the cloths, houses and cars.
- the main hero is not poor man because of his costume, he is wearing a dark red tie. Businessmen, police, government, men going to the special evenings - they are often wearing ties. He can't be a businessman, because they don't wearing ties outside of their jobs. Don't think that he is from the government because they don't using revolvers or pistols. He can be a criminal, who was disturbed when he was at a meeting like in the Godfather. Or he can be from police. But he doesn't look like he is working in police.
The genre of this film is hit or thriller because of the weapon and the turned over car.

Kiwi!
Heh, yes, I'm going to talk about this short film. Why? Because it's genius! It is one of the best animation films on the Earth! It's so simple, that you think that you could do the same - to make the same film. The picture is very simple too, but warm, so eyes will like it. The colours are bright and it can be seen that the film was made in a simple way, but, when you're watching it, you don't think about it - the picture still looks natural. And the main idea can give you food for thoughts. I really want to retell you it, but it will be better if you watch it by youself.
P.S. Speaking honestly and seriously, I was crying after it and there are not many film after which I'm crying.
Try to be like this bird.
Some interesting or boring (you should decide) information:
It was made by a student Dony Permedi in 2006 and the music is Mad world by Gary Jules (the original version of the film consist of the music by Tim Cassell, if you want you can find it, but only this version will make you cry). It's a computer animated film. It's very popular on YouTube and it was the second-most popular video in the "Film & Animation" category in 2007.
The film contains cute (I just cannot imagine the word more suitable) moments such as some scenes in the beginning - 0.21 and 0.58. They make us smile and attract more people. My little cousin loves it and I'm sure that it can be seen by little children. Adults will love it too because of the power and major idea. And teenagers will also watch it because it shows how a little creature bravely trying to make its dream true.
P.S. Speaking honestly and seriously, I was crying after it and there are not many film after which I'm crying.
Try to be like this bird.

La Jetée.
La Jetée, not the most famous but one of the most mysterious films, was born in 1962. It's not an obvious film, even because it consists of photos (except of a couple of seconds of a video with a blinking girl). There aren't any dialoges, but the voice behind the scenes, the voice without any emotions, dead voice. We can also see two words which are seen by one of the heros: tete apotre. The main apostle. These words remind me 1984 by G. Orwell with its Big Brother. But we should return to the film by Chris Marker, to La Jetée.
The film is like an album of a man's photos - we are reading pages of his life. The life of the main hero without name (what signifies that he can be anybody, for example, you) was connected with his love - he saw the girl when he was a little boy, he was with her during the experiment and he died near her. As stated above everything is describes by the voice without any emotions, so the story can be told by one of experimentators, who are the only men without any emotions, who were working with the man like with a guinea pig. For them he was only a subject, which must give them the information they needed. They were working with his memories without any esteem. Even of of the faces in the beginning of the film reminds me a skull - without eyes, white and in the dark. Eyes are very important things in the film - if they are hidden something is wrong - for example the eyes of the experimenters are often in the dark and the eyes of the girl when she was afraid were black. Furthermore the eyes of the main hero were hidden during the experiment. This reminds me the Clockwork Orange by S. Kubrick, this scene with suffering and eyes emphasis.
This cruel film is full of love, which is the only light ray in La Jetée. The love made the man return to the girl, the love made him stop helping the experimenters, the love made him live again. But nobody can escape Time and he died.
The war destroyed everything, it made rats from the people, who were only trying to survive. The girl was outside of the war. She was himself before it, she was living with that little boy from the Past, she was from another world. We can understand it when he didn't answer her question about his necklace which was connected with the war. "He invents an explanation" because he didn't want her felt or even touched "the war". But the experimenters didn't think about it, they wanted the war went to the calm Past. This changed the Time and made her afraid and took away her laugh. He was a Ghost for alive people from the Past but only till the end. When he chose her and the Life, he died as an alive man. It was a mistake to let the experimenters got to the Past. They were like a poison which spoiling the Peace. The experimenter was on the runway and he was watching the man dying. After this the war began.
The music is very powerful too. It is a bit scary, but with it helps you to see the story and it doesn't matter that the pictures don't move. The sound of music reminds me the work of a engine or a strange mechanism. It makes you waiting, makes you heart beats faster. The music is dead too - it's the first time I listen to cruel and ruthless music (maybe except of the Shining theme) which is coming closer and closer and you can't escape of it. Each photo in this film is very powerful, it is beautiful and can exist even without the film. But together with music they make the picture a genius one.
P.S. I agree that the film is bold (because people get used to watch films consist of videos but not photos) and avant-garde (speaking of art, it seems the film is surreal). But I don't think that "this movie is lacked of detailed", because there are a lot of little things and you can get everything that you want from this film.

Very short film competition
Maybe you know that every year some UK students are taking part in the Guardian competition. They should make a 60 sec. film which will tell about their favourite subject. I love literature - so I took the risk of sending my film.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/education/interactive/2012/oct/01/student-film-competition-submissions
Mine is in the end, with books. It's not professional and a lot of others, especially in the beginning, are very good, but, I hope, you will enjoy it.
Here you can watch the submissions:
